Shayarne Matheson Senior Classical and Contemporary Teacher

Shayarne Matheson trained in Sydney in her youth and completed all of her RAD examinations including her Solo Seal.  Shayarne was a finalist of the Genee in Singapore and the Sydney Eisteddfod McDonald’s Classical Ballet Scholarship.  Shayarne was awarded the Supreme title at the Alana Haines Awards in New Zealand and received a full scholarship to further her training at the Royal Ballet School in London.

After graduating from the Royal Ballet School, Shayarne worked with The Queensland Ballet and then furthered her training in contemporary dance with Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-professional Program.

Shayarne’s passion for choreography has had her award winning pieces performed all over Australia, New Zealand, America, Europe and Asia.  Her latest accolade was winning the Best Choreography Award for a group piece she created in 2023 for our full time dancers.

Shayarne loves being a part of the faculty of the NSW International Ballet Academy and sharing her passion for dance in all its forms.
