Natalia Hughes Senior Classical and Contemporary Teacher

Natalia began her dance training at the age of 4, and over the years has studied classical ballet, jazz and tap, modern/contemporary and lyrical under various teachers including Robyn E Dixon, Sharyn Constable and Hilary Kaplan.  In 2004, she completed her Dance/Education degree with Honours at the University of New South Wales where she developed a love for choreography.  

As a professional freelance dancer, Natalia has worked on numerous projects with a range of directors/choreographers including Stephen Page and Dein Perry.  In 2004, she became a member of the Disney Theatrical Production of The Lion King performing in Sydney, Melbourne and Shanghai. 

As a freelance teacher, Natalia has assisted students to successfully complete their RAD and Ballet Conservatoire Vaganova exams, as well as choreographed and helped prepare students for a range of competitions and Eisteddfods including the YAGP and City of Sydney Eisteddfod.

Enthusiastic about education, Natalia has worked in the secondary public and independent sector for the past 16 years, holding numerous positions including Head of School and Principal. Having delivered HSC Dance, she is proud to have assisted students over the years in obtaining top marks for their final exams with students also receiving HSC Call Back nominations in Performance and Composition. 

Natalia is excited to be joining the faculty of The Conlan College and is looking forward to working with all our students over the coming year.  She also looks forward to developing new programs for our Conlan Kids throughout 2021, to be launched in 2022!
