Hyo Shimizu Alumni
Hyo started his ballet training at The Conlan College at the age of 5 and progressed to the full time program at age 13.
Hyo entered the Interstate Training Program of The Australian Ballet School at age 9 and was cast in professional roles with The Australian Ballet Company’s productions of Rudolf Nureyev’s “Don Quixote” and Peter Wright’s “The Nutcracker”.
Whilst training in the full time program, his achievements are simply too many to list. The highlights of his years at Conlan were winning the overall RAD Isobel Anderson Award for 2018 and the Advanced 1 Award in 2019, winning the Robert and Elizabeth Albert Junior Classical Scholarship, the Australian Ballet School Scholarship, The Wenkart Foundation Ballet Championship, being offered a paid Apprenticeship with Ballet Manila from the Asian Grand Prix, winning the Sydney Eisteddfod Scholarship for 2019 and being the only Sydney candidate to be selected for the 2019 Prix de Lausanne.
Hyo continues his training now at The Mannheim Hochschule for Performing Arts in Germany and we wait to see what amazing achievements his future holds.
